MOSCOW, Idaho - After dueling BYU to a tough 3-4 loss at home, Idaho women's tennis is hitting the road once again for their last road stretch for nearly two full months.
The Vandals are heading to Nebraska for back-to-back days of contests against the University of Nebraska at Omaha on Saturday, Feb. 8, and Creighton University on Sunday, Feb. 9.
Nebraska Omaha sits at 2-3 to start their non-conference slate, winning two straight 7-0 sweeps over Sioux Falls and Morningside to start the year, but then dropping three in a row to Iowa State (0-4), North Texas (1-6), and Kansas (0-7)
Creighton has had a strong start to the year, holding a 3-1 record. They dropped a 0-4 sweep to Kansas to begin with, but have now won three in a row against Missouri State (5-2), Northern Iowa (6-1), and Gustavus Adolphus College (7-0)
Despite the loss to BYU, the Vandals are not shortchanged of accomplishments to start the year. Naomi Schraeder has been exceptional in the first month, and is currently the only player in the Big Sky with a 4-0 singles record. Hanna Koprowska has also started the year 2-0, and the doubles pairing of Ida Johannsson and Chenyue Xu have also won their first two of the season.
The first match vs. the UNO Mavericks will commence in the afternoon at 3:30 PM, while the second vs. Creighton will take place at 10:00 AM the following day.
