MOSCOW, Idaho– Blossom Omogor took first place in the 400 at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on Thursday in Long Beach, California, highlighting a busy weekend for Idaho track and field.
Omogor's time of 55.27 is her fastest in her outdoor career and places her seventh in the Big Sky this season.
Zac Bright and
Luca Wagner both ran top-10 conference times in the 800, with Bright crossing the line in 1:49.92, taking the second spot in the Big Sky rankings. Wagner completed the distance in 1:51.03, a career best in the event.
Numerous Vandals found success at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azuza, California. The women's 4x100 team took the track for the first time in 2025, as the team of
Jana Willems,
Alyssa Marsh,
Rhyan Madden,
Lara Holzhauer set their opening mark at 47.03. The 4x400 team that included Holzhauer, Madden,
Franziska Stoehr, and
Blossom Omogor completed their first outdoor relay together this season in 3:42.34.
Constanze Paoli flew to a 4:27.36 in the 1500, a career-best and the 10th fastest time in Idaho history. Paoli also competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase alongside
Katja Pattis, with both climbing into the conference top-7 with strong showings. Paoli, a sophomore from Alzenau, Germany, placed her name into the UI record book with a run of 10:20.51.
Mia Sylvester continued her impressive 2025 at the shot put ring, moving up to third in the Big Sky following a 14.73-meter throw. The toss is her longest in an outdoor setting since 2023.
Idaho is back in action Saturday, April 26th, making a short drive to Pullman, Washington to compete in the Cougar Classic.
