MISSOULA, Mont. – Alex Terry continued her hot start to the 2025 season with a meet victory at Friday's Montana Invite, leading the Vandal women to a first-place finish as a team. The men claimed second in the 8K, their second straight runner-up finish in 2025.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Beyond Terry's time of 18:08.4, three other Vandals claimed spots in the top six, with
Jesse Redding crossing the line in third, and
Pia Kircher and
Abigail Thomas taking home fifth and sixth, respectively. Mary Nakamura closed out the scoring for Idaho, finishing in 14th.
For the second straight race,
Miles Ferguson and
Zac Knapp led the Idaho men, with the duo flipping their positioning from August's curtain raiser. Ferguson's 24:59.7 was good enough for fourth overall, with Knapp less than eight seconds behind in sixth. Sophomore
James Hodgson set an 8K personal best, finishing in 25:30.5 and taking home 11th. Freshmen Jaysen Rodriguez and
Evan Jones contributed to the team score for the Black and Gold in their first career 8K test.
UP NEXT
Idaho will spend the next two weeks training, building towards the Willamette Invitational on October 4.
