MOSCOW, Idaho – For the 36
th-consecutive week, the Idaho Vandals are in the Top 25 polls coming in at No. 10 in the Stats Perform Top 25, and No. 11 in the AFCA Coaches Poll.
This is the second-longest streak that Idaho has been ranked in the top 25 polls in school history. The longest such streak was 42 weeks from the start of the year in 1992 to the middle of the year in 1995.
The Vandals are coming off a near-upset at Washington State this past weekend in which the Cougars needed a last-second field goal to escape with a victory. Idaho's defense stifled Washington State and held the Cougs to just three rushing yards for the entire game. Idaho is currently ranked second in all of Division I football in rush defense.
Isiah King had a standout performance on what proved to be a career night for Idaho's talented linebacker. He recorded career highs with 10.0 tackles, 6.0 solo tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and tied his career high with 1.0 sacks. The San Diego native was named Idaho's Axe Winner as the player of the game.
Offensively, the Vandals were led by
Joshua Wood, who rushed for over 100 yards, making him the first Idaho quarterback since Zach Borisch in 2021 to surpass the century mark in rushing.
Art Williams also played a big impact on offense and scored Idaho's first touchdown of the season.
Idaho is also ranked in the following polls:
- Excel H Sports – No. 7
- FCS Nation – No. 5
There are six teams from the Big Sky Conference in the Top 25 – the most of any conference in FCS.
