MOSCOW, Idaho– The Vandals finished with an even record at the Duck Invitational, posting a 0-4 result against Oregon and a 4-3 victory over New Mexico State.
Idaho began the weekend with a tough match against the Ducks. The hosts caught an early lead in doubles play, taking two out of the three matches. Their victory continued into singles play with a six-straight win over Idaho. Three of the six matches were left unfinished, which added three to the Duck column. Although the result wasn't what Idaho had hoped for, the Vandals put up a fight in several matches, including a close first set for Chenyue Xu on court four.

The Vandals had an incredible performance in their second game of the weekend against New Mexico State. Idaho showed strength from the start with wins in two of the matches to secure the doubles points. The pair of
Jessica Matthews and
Naomi Schraeder dominated on court one, taking a 6-4 victory.
Hanna Koprowska and
Ida Johansson also found success in doubles play and achieved the same 6-4 victory on court six.
Idaho established more success in singles play, with a win in three out of the six matches. Matthews reigned over the Aggies on court seven, nailing a 6-3, 6-1 win. Johansson pinned the second victory for Idaho, 6-3, 6-4, and her second victory in singles matches of the season. Mariam Hatem was another key player for the Vandals, securing the third victory, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.
