Amadike Earns Back-to-Back Big Sky Player of the Week Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah – Idaho Men's Tennis senior Chetanna Amadike has been named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference office announced.

Amadike delivered another standout performance on Saturday as Idaho faced No. 56 Gonzaga. Competing in the No. 1 singles position, the Canadian native earned a commanding straight-set victory, 6-2, 6-2, extending his singles winning streak to five matches.

In addition, he secured the doubles victory earlier that evening, teaming up with Gabriel Moroder to secure a 6-4 victory over the Bulldogs. The win marked Amadike's fifth consecutive doubles triumph with Moroder, continuing his dominant stretch across both formats.

When asked about earning back-to-back Player of the Week honors, Amadike remained focused on the bigger picture.
"Personal awards are awesome. They're nice motivation and confirmation that we're doing the right things," Amadike said. "But I want to turn these into team wins and eventually a ring for Idaho in April."

With the honor, Amadike becomes just the second player in program history to earn multiple Big Sky Player of the Week awards in a single season, joining Francisco Bascon (2021), who captured the award four times. Amadike and Bascon are also the only two Vandals for Idaho Men's Tennis to earn the recognition in consecutive weeks.

UP NEXT: Idaho returns to action March 6–7 in Boise, Idaho, competing in the Boise Spring Invitational in the City of Trees.
