MOSCOW, Idaho– The Idaho Vandals are back in the win column with a victory over Seattle University. The Vandals defeated the Redhawks in a Wednesday morning match, 6-1.
Idaho had a strong start by winning the doubles point, taking two out of three matches with scores of 6-1 and 6-3. That momentum carried into singles, where the Vandals won on courts three, five, and six in straight sets. On court two, Naomi Schraeder played another three-set match, winning the first set 7-6, losing the second 4-6, and then taking the tiebreak in the third. Ida Johansson also battled through three sets and won 4-6, 7-5, and 10-4. With victories in five of six singles matches and the doubles point, the Black and Gold secured the 6-1 win.
