Biography

High School: Hartman was an all-state track athlete at Mountain View High School. He won the Idaho 5A District III title in the 800m with a time of 1:56.28, then ran a 1:58.85 and took third at the 5A state championship meet. He was a 2008 state cross country qualifier, as he finished 52nd and helped the Mavericks take fourth as a team. He ran a career-best 4:31.18 at a regular season meet during his senior year. He also competed in golf for Mountain View.

Personal: He is the son of David and Nancy Hartman. He has two sisters, Sarah and Hannah. He was a National Honor Society member and graduated from MVHS with a 4.0 grade-point average. His intended major at Idaho is History.
