DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ? University of Idaho junior Kelly Nakashima improved eight positions Wednesday as she climbed from a tie for 95th to a tie for 87th after a six-over 78 during the second round of the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship at The Legends course at LPGA International.
Nakashima struggled on the front nine with bogeys at one, two, four and six and a double bogey at five. She rallied on the back with a birdie three on the 357-yard par-4 11th. She did bogey the 17th but still had a even par back nine to finish at six-over 78.
Christel Boeljon of Purdue University leads the tournament at three-under 141.
The tournament continues Thursday and concludes Friday.
