@VandalsWBB Looking to Spur Skid in Wyoming

Idaho closes out eight-game road swing on Friday

LARAMIE, Wyo.—Jon Newlee and the Idaho Vandals women's basketball team head to Wyoming for the eighth and final road-game in Idaho's daunting early season slate. Idaho has not played at home since its Nov. 5 exhibition win over Multnomah. Friday's game is set for a 5:30 p.m. PT start.

About Idaho: Idaho is off to a 2-5 start to the season, its slowest since a 1-6 start in 2012. Idaho currently is on a five game skid, after a 2-0 start. Idaho's first seven opponents are a combined 32-23.
 
About the Opponent: The Cowgirls are unbeaten at home this season with a 6-0 record in Laramie. Wyoming's two losses came at Michigan State and Drake. Junior Liv Roberts won Mountain West Player of the Week for her efforts in UW's 69-62 win over South Dakota.
 
The Match-Up: Friday be the 12th overall meeting between Idaho and Wyoming. The Vandals trail the series, 6-5, but are winners of the last two contests.
 
Five Down: Idaho has lost five games in a row for the first time since a 0-8 stretch during the 2011-12 season.
 
Live and Let Die: Idaho made a season-high 16 3's against UNLV at the Maui Wahine Classic. The issue in the loss was that Idaho finished with 19 total field goals.
 
Limited Access: Idaho was held to just six 3-point attempts against Northern Iowa, matching the fewest attempted since Nov. 25, 2011 against Pepperdine.
 
Record Breakers: The Vandals and Huskies combined for a NCAA-record 97 3-point attempts on Tuesday, shattering the previous record of 80 set by Sacramento State and Cal in 2015.
 
Keep away: Idaho's 88 turnovers this season rank 14th fewest in the NCAA. It's 12.6 per game are 15th nationally.
 
Make it Rain: The Vandals are averaging 9.7 3FGM per game, ranking second in the Big Sky and seventh in the NCAA.
 
Playing Nice: Idaho has been called for 16.1 personal fouls per game this season, third fewest in the Big Sky. Last year the Vandals were the least penalized team in the Big Sky, averaging 15.0 personal fouls per game, 33rd in nation.
 
Ball Control: Idaho leads the Big Sky (58th NCAA) with an assist/turnover ratio of 1.07.
 
Slim Wins: Idaho's two wins this season have been by margins of four and two points. Idaho was 7-4 last year in games decided by 10 points or less.
 
600: Idaho's win over Cal State Fullerton was the program's 600th.
