SCOUTING IDAHO
Plenty of familiar faces will be on display when the Idaho women's basketball team takes the court on Sunday. The Vandals return seven seasoned veterans from last season to begin the 2018-19 campaign.

Headlining Idaho's group of returners are seniors Mikayla Ferenz, who was selected as the Preseason Big Sky MVP, while teammate Taylor Pierce also was named to the Preseason All-Big Sky team by both the league's head coaches and media panel.

Ferenz is ranked fourth in the NCAA in 3PFG and 3PG as wells as eight in the nation with 22.5 points per game. She also added 4.3 assists per game and grabbed an average of 6.4 rebounds a game, while averaging 36.8 minutes for the Vandals in 2017-2018.

Pierce averaged 15.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. She set the school record for most three-point field goals made in a season with 137, which put her 2nd in the NCAA.

There are new faces on the Vandals roster this season, in six newcomers, two of which are transfers.

Idaho was also tabbed to win the Big Sky by both the coaches and the media.

SCOUTING ST. MARTIN'S

SMU sophomore guard Saniah Simpson was the first ever Saint to receive the GNAC Freshmen of the Year award. Simpson averaged 14.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game last season.

Simpson and Makenna Schultz were both honored to the GNAC Preseason All-Conference poll in October. Simpson and Schultz combined last season for over 25 points per game from the outside, and both scored season-highs of 33 points.

The Division II Saints were picked ninth out of 11 teams among the GNAC Conference, collecting 36 points from the league's head coaches.
