MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho soccer head coach,
Jeremy Clevenger, and his staff have added another piece in the offseason, bringing in
Fiona Dawson for the spring semester.
"We are very excited to add Fiona to the Vandal soccer program," Clevenger said. "Fiona adds size and technical skill to our team. Her 6-foot frame will make her a threat in the air, but she is also a very technical player. Her first touch and vision are first class. She is versatile and can play multiple positions. She will add a lot to our program."
Dawson joins the Vandals after spending two seasons with Highline CC in Des Moines, Wash. There, she helped lead the Thunderbirds to a combined record of 34-2-3 over two years, including the NWAC Championship in 2017 after an undefeated 18-0-2 record. Last season, Dawson scored five goals and added an assist, starting all 19 games.
She played her high school soccer at Sehome, where she was a captain as a senior. From Bellingham, Wash., Dawson played for a number of local clubs throughout her youth career, including Greater Seattle Surf in 2017 and Whatcom FC Rangers from 2010-16. She also competed in the Washington State Pool for ODP/EPD.
Clevenger will announced the full 219 class on February 6.
