FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The first day of the Husky Invitational for the Idaho swim team was highlighted by the Vandal relay teams.
The Vandal 400-meter medley relay team consisting of
Katie Hale,
Aimee Iwamoto,
Rylie Jones, and
Natalie Crocker finished first in 3:46.44. A second Idaho team made up of
Kaling Phung,
Cassie Dallas,
Alexis Schmidt, and
Emily Deitz placed eighth.
Meanwhile, the 200 freestyle relay team of Hale, Jones, Deitz, and Crocker finished second in 1:35.60, just out-touching the third-place team from Mission Viejo.
Brianna Lucien finished eighth in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:31.89.
In the 50-meter freestyle prelims, Hale, Jones, Deitz, and Crocker all qualified for the finals, with Hale finishing ninth in the evening session. Â Â
Competition at the Husky Invitational will continue on Saturday before concluding on Sunday.
