FARMINGTON, Utah – In her first week competing at the collegiate level, goalkeeper
Avrie Fox has been recognized by the conference as the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week. Fox and the Vandals are off to a solid start after splitting the opening weekend.

Fox made five saves on the way to her first career shutout on Sunday, blanking the Roadrunners of CSU Bakersfield. Her biggest save of the game came in the 60
th minute, as she was able to deflect a long-range shot from the Runners into the post to keep the Vandals on top.

Fox also made a number of saves against Boise State in the Kibbie Dome on Friday. She conceded just one goal, on a penalty kick in the first half.

The Vandals are back home for four straight, beginning with Oregon Tech on Friday night at 5 p.m. Mississippi State will be making its first ever trip to the Dome on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m.
