MOLALLA, Ore. – Graduate student
Laura Gerner advances into the top-5 while leading the Vandals to the sole possession of 5
th place after the second round at the Big Sky Championships. As a team, the Vandals carded a 23-over, 311 second-round score at the Arrowhead Golf Club.
Gerner picked up right where she left off on Monday, firing in two more birdies in her second 18 holes. Gerner finished her second round strong on Tuesday, going 1-under in her back nine. Gerner's second consecutive 2-over, 74 moves her up in a tie for 5
th place heading into the final round.
Senior
Valeria Patino also jumped inside the top-10 after a 4-over, 76 second round. The First Team-All Big Sky selection started her round on a good note, caring an even score on the front nine. Patino is tied for 8
th with a total score of 7-over, 151.
Junior
Eddie Hsu carded a 10-over, 82 in her second round and sits in the sole possession of 33
rd place. Junior
Vicky Tsai had a four-stroke improvement in her second round, carding a 7-over, 79. The Third Team All-Big Sky selection is tied for 35
th heading into the final round. Graduate student
Jaime Bellingham sits in a tie for 43
rd with a total score of 22-over, 166.
Sacramento State sits in first place with a team score of 26-over, 602. Individually, Tess Blair from Sacramento State sits in first place with a score of 1-under, 143.
The final round of the Big Sky Championships with begin Wednesday morning with a shotgun start.
