LAKEWOOD, Wash. – The Idaho Vandal women rallied from a tough first round to finish in a tie for eighth place, paced by
Vicky Tsai's 19th-place finish at the Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational.
The Vandals started the tournament with a first-round team score of 305 and sat in 13th place, but Idaho did not record a single double bogey in round two en route to a 293, 12 strokes better than the first round.
Paced by Tsai's third-round 69, Idaho again recorded a 293 to jump into a T8 with Southern Miss and tournament host Seattle U.
Tsai did not card a single bogey in her final round and had three birdies to score a 69, the low round of the tournament for Idaho. She moved up to 19th with a three-round score of 220, just two strokes out of a top-10 finish.
Jenna Bruggeman finished T21 with a three-round score of 221.
Kyndall Newman and
Nattavadee Khunsri finished T36 with a three-round score of 225 and
Yvonne Vinceri tallied a score of 234 to finish T81.
Boram Jung, competing as an independent, notched a three-round score of 235.
The Vandals will compete in the Clash at Boulder Creek in the final tournament of the 2022 fall season on Oct. 23-24 before preparing for the spring which begins in February at the Falcon Florida Classic.
