MOSCOW, Idaho - The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is ecstatic to announce that Joe Reiber from Melba High school has signed with the Vandals.
Joe was a phenomenal basketball player for Melba High School that brought his talents to the track and found immediate success. The 2A Idaho State Player of the Year and a member of the 2022 2A Idaho State basketball champions, he began racking up accolades as soon as he hit the track. In his first, and only, season in track and field Joe broke three school records at Melba including the 43 year old record in high jump.
Joe soared to his best mark in the high jump at Idaho 2A State Championship meet at a mark of 6'10". The height tied for the win but missed the title on misses. This was the only event he did not stand atop the podium, as he won the 100 meter, 200 meter, and the 4x100 meter relay. Joe's best marks in the sprint events are 10.79" in the 100 meters, and 22.12" in the 200 meters.
"Joe is just getting stated in track and field and has already put together an impressive resume. We are happy to have him join the Vandal family." -
Tim Cawley, Director of Track & Field /Cross Country
