MOSCOW, Idaho -- Idaho swim & dive (1-0) kicks off their first home meet of the season this weekend against Grand Canyon (0-0) and Simon Fraser (0-1) at the UI Swim Center. The tri-meet will be a two-day event starting Friday, Oct. 6 at 4:30 p.m. and wrapping up Saturday, Oct. 7.
ABOUT GRAND CANYON
This will be GCU's first meet of the season after coming off of a successful 2022-23 campaign, placing second at the WAC Championships. The Vandals and the Lopes last faced in a tri-meet at New Mexico State earlier this year (Jan. 7), where Grand Canyon earned a 200.5-87.5 win over Idaho.
ABOUT SIMON FRASER
The Red Leafs are 0-1 on the season coming into Moscow. The last time these two programs met was in 2021 when the Vandals beat Simon Fraser, 183-132.
LAST TIME OUT
Idaho opened the 2023-34 regular season against College of Idaho last week, posting a dominant 238-24 victory on the road. The Vandals won all 15 events and swept the top three spots in each competition.
Freshmen newcomers
Sydney Heasman and
Ginger Kiefer recorded wins in two events to help lead the Vandals to their first win of the season. Heasman picked up wins in 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle while Kiefer won in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle.
Diver
Emily Mack won both the 1-meter and 3-meter events to jumpstart her senior season.

The Vandals return back home for a matchup against Northern Arizona on October 20 at 4 p.m.
