SPOKANE, Washington - Idaho Track and Field capped off a booming weekend at The Podium in Spokane, Washington for the Inland Northwest Invitational. The Vandals captured six gold medals, 13 personal records, and two new school records.
The Vandal women took over the 300m dash highlighted by senior
Prabhasha Wickramaraachchi who secured her second gold medal of the year with a new Idaho record of 39.49 seconds.
Olivia Martin finished second (39.54) with
Franziska Stoehr following in third (39.64). The trio now hold the three fastest indoor 300m times in Vandal history.
Lara Holzhauer (41.51) and
Belen Garcia Arias (42.49) also took fourth and fifth, respectively.Â
In the field, sophomore
Mia Sylvester finished first in the women's weight throw for her second gold medal in 2024. Her 18.77m mark now sits atop the Idaho record books breaking Aloha Santiago's 18.66m mark from 2003. Sylvester also holds the Big Sky's best mark of the year.
Martin secured another medal for the day with a second-place finish in the women's 60m (7.67) and freshman
Jana Willems took third, a hundredth of a second behind at 7.68.
After taking first at last week's Lauren McCluskey Memorial,
Camryn Crouch earned another title in the women's 200m race. Crouch ran a season-best 24.29.
Freshmen
Rhyan Madden and
Adeline Wimer achieved personal bests in the women's 400m race. Madden ran a 58.34 for fourth place in her hometown of Spokane while Wimer finished at 59.38 for sixth.
Hannah Russell scored a podium finish in the women's 800m. Russell, a graduate student from Port Perry, Ontario, Canada, took second finishing at 2:15.35, her best this year.
The Vandals' next champion came in the women's 1 mile race as
Abigail Thomas notched a personal record 5:06.48 for her first medal in 2024.
Senior
Ellie Grant scored two medals with two personal records on the day. Grant jumped 1.62m in the women's high jump for third place and 5.43m in the long jump finishing second.
Sophomore
Joe Reiber secured his first medal of 2024 in the men's high jump at a 1.91m mark for second place.
Justyn Rogers took first in the men's long jump in his first competition of the year. Rogers, of Brisbane, Australia, jumped 6.93m, the seventh best in the Big Sky in 2024.
Freshman Francesca Cuccú achieved a new personal best while taking first in the women's triple jump at 11.64m, the ninth best mark in the conference this year.Â
Noah Culbertson captured yet another medal in his hot start to the 2024 season. The junior finished second in the men's weight throw at 17.23m.
The Vandals compete at The Podium in Spokane, Wash. again for the Riverfront Invitational & Multis next week February 1st through the 3rd.Â
