ARLINGTON, Texas – Ella Haskins received her first career WAC Swimmer of the Week honor following a record-breaking weekend against Washington State.
Haskins, a junior from Seattle, posted two school record wins in the 50 and 100 freestyle in a meet against Washington State this past Saturday.
She started the day off with a career-best 22.94 in the 50 free to break the previously 10-year-old school record held by Erica Anderson (23.08). Her mark sits second fastest in the WAC this season.
The junior followed it up with a program-leading time of 49.90 in the 100 free to top another 10-year-old mark that was held by former WAC Swimmer of the Year, Rachel (Millet) Sewell. The time is the fastest recorded mark by a conference swimmer in the 100 free this season.
After earning two more individual victories, Haskins wraps up regular season action with 10 first-place finishes this season.
Haskins and the Vandals finished regular season play with a 5-5 overall mark and get set to compete at the WAC Championships, Feb. 28-Mar. 2.
