MOSCOW, Idaho - The Vandals announced another member to the Idaho Track and Field's 2024 signee class.
Wyatt Pickering of Kingman, Arizona is a state champion who competed in middle-distance events and cross country.
Pickering had great success at the high school level, placing in the top-15 in the state four times during the cross country season. He was crowned a state champion in the 800m and was also named track and XC MVP four times. Pickering excelled in the classroom earning high honors and a 3.9 GPA.
Pickering boasts personal best performances of 50.78 in the 400m, 1:53.91 in the 800m, 4:18.13 in the mile, 9:43.49 in the 3200m, and 15:56 in the XC 5K. Off the track, he also competed for Lee Williams High School's basketball team.
The University of Idaho program stood out to Pickering because of the coaches' passion for their craft and the team's determination. "I am looking forward to training with some high-level teammates and moving to such a new and amazing environment," said Pickering.
Pickering plans to study business and economics with the goal of obtaining a degree in business finance.
