WORLEY, Idaho – Kaylin Johnson was four-under 68 and
Emma Heyman was three-under 69 to lead Idaho to and even-par 288 Monday, to close out the tournament in a tie for a seventh-place finish at the Eagle Invitational at Circling Raven in Worley.
The Vandals finished day one in eighth place but rallied behind Johnson and Heyman to move into a tie for seventh and finished just four strokes out of fourth place. Idaho's even-par round was the fourth-best round of the weekend for any team.
Johnson's four-under propelled her into a two-under finish for the tournament, good enough for a seventh-place individual finish, the first top-10 finish over Vandal career.
Heyman's three-under was her best round of the season and pushed her into a 17th-place finish.
"I am proud of the team for closing out this event with a season low, even par 288," Idaho head coach
Stephanie Young said. "We are looking forward to working on a few things this week and getting back on the road for Seattle this weekend. I want to extend a special shout-out to
Kaylin Johnson for her seventh-place finish overall and final round 68 today. I am also, proud of
Emma Heyman's final round of 69 that propelled us to move up a spot on the leader board."
