MOSCOW, Idaho – While North Idaho sits under a blanket of white with temperatures reaching season lows, the Vandal women's golf team in the desert and is set to open the 2025 spring season Tuesday at the Bowling Green State University Women's Intercollegiate at the Wigwam Resort Blue Course in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
 
The Vandals have finished second at the tournament in each of the last two seasons while 
Zoe Newell earned co-medalist honors in last year's tournament, finishing five over for the tournament.
 
Idaho is coming off a fall season that saw the Vandals win the Tri-State Invitational with 
Emma Kang earning the top spot in that tournament.
 
With solid momentum in the fall and a relatively mild winter that saw the team get extra time outside for practice, the Vandals enter this week's tournament with confidence.
 
The tournament is held at the same place that hosts the Big Sky Conference Championship in April. The solid field includes WAC, MAC, Conference USA and five Big Sky teams.
 
Kang will open the tournament in the No. 1 spot for the Vandals while 
Emma Heyman will play at No. 2, 
Kaylin Johnson will play at No. 3 and 
Zoe Newell and 
Jenna Bruggeman round out the lineup at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively. Laura Caamano will play as an individual.
 
The tournament will consist of 36 holes of Tuesday and 18 holes on Wednesday. Tuesday will begin with an 7 a.m. pacific shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on
