CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Three Idaho women's golf student-athletes were named All-American Scholars for the 2017-18 season Tuesday, by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
Laura Gerner,
Kendall Gray and

The honor marks a career sweep for Gray who was named a WGCA Scholar All-American all four seasons of her collegiate career. The Tacoma, Wash., native will serve as an undergraduate assistant coach with the Vandals next season as she completes her degree in mechanical engineering. Gray holds a 3.97 cumulative grade-point average and is spending the summer as an intern at Boeing.
Â
Kim is a two-time WGCA Scholar All-American, while this is the first such award for Gerner.
Â
In addition to being leaders in the classroom Gerner, Gray and Kim were all part of Idaho's lineup that claimed the 2018 Big Sky Conference Championship and competed at the 2018 NCAA Madison Regional. Kim took second place, individually, at the conference championship.
Â
The trio was also named to the Spring Big Sky All-Academic Team Monday, along with teammate
Sophie Hausmann.
Â
In April, Idaho women's golf was honored with the NCAA's Public Recognition Award for their multi-year Academic Progress Rate ranking in the top 10 percent of women's golf teams across the country. It is the fourth consecutive year the Vandal program earned the Public Recognition Award and the fifth time overall. The team finished the spring 2018 semester with a combined 3.38 cumulative GPA.
