MOSCOW, Idaho -- The Idaho swim and dive team (3-1) will have a busy week ahead as they attend a pair of events in Boise, Idaho and Flagstaff, Arizona. The Vandal dive team travels to Arizona to compete in the Lumberjack Diving Invite, Nov. 21-23 while the Idaho swim team will embark on a six hour drive south to host the Vandal Invite, Nov. 22-24.
KIEFER DOES IT AGAIN
Ginger Kiefer received two first-place finishes last weekend, followed by a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.12).
Kiefer clocked in top times in the 100 IM (57.59) and 400 IM (4:23.84) to help the Vandals take home a dominant 206-56 victory against Seattle University.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Vandals are coming off their second conference win of the season against Seattle University two weeks ago.
Idaho posted their first points on the board when the 200-yard medley relay team consisting of
Madelynn Butler,
Sydney Heasman,
Grace Qualman, and
Rylie Moxham touched the wall clocking a time of 1:45.84.Â
Senior
Ella Haskins earned two individual Vandal victories along with sophomore
Katy Foley. Haskins swept the short-distance freestyle events, placing first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.04) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.10). Foley posted wins in the backstroke events, taking first in the 100-yard back (58.03) and in the 200-yard back (2:06.60).Â
Three freshman swimmers posted first-place finishes in their respective events.
Rylie Moxham hit the wall in 1:05.69 in the 100-yard breaststroke to earn a victory.
Charlie Zollinger was a first-place finisher in the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.07) while
Holly Lenarz earned a win in the 500-yard freestyle (5:03.78).
NEXT UP
The Vandal swim and dive team will take the month of December off before returning to the pool in 2025 for a conference competition on Saturday, Jan. 18, against Utah Tech in the UI Swim Center.
