MOSCOW, Idaho – Vandal soccer battled to a 2-2 draw against Northern Colorado to open its final home weekend of the season.
The Vandals got off to a slow start, allowing the Bears to find the back of the net in the 13th minute. The early goal sparked Idaho's attack, as the Vandals began to control possession and push into the offensive third.
Idaho forced a corner kick in the 35th minute, allowing Tori Peters to place a lofted ball directly at the head of Annika Farley for the goal that evened the score. Following that up with another corner, Peters met Sara Rodgers for a header and her fourth goal of the season. This allowed the Vandals to enter halftime ahead.
Coming out of the break Idaho kept their lead and made several attempts to extend it by getting off seven shots in the second half. The Bears were able to find an opportunity to counter and scored off of a breakaway in the final ten minutes.
Despite the Vandals persistent efforts they were not able to regain a lead in time, resulting in the draw.
