2012 Outdoor: Charles earned a pair of All-WAC honors and set several career bests during his first outdoor season at Idaho … earned his first career First-Team All-WAC honor in the discus throw at the WAC Outdoor Championships with a career-best 158-1 (48.18m) and a third-place finish, then added a Second-Team honor with a fourth-place mark of 51-11 (15.82m) in the shot put … also finished seventh at the WAC meet in the hammer throw at 143-6 (43.73m) … hit a career-best 157-4 (47.95m) in the hammer at the Sam Adams Classic on March 31 … finished second at the Vandal Jamboree on May 5 with a career-best 53-1.75 (16.20m) in the shot put and added a third-place toss of 154-10 (47.20m) in the discus throw at the meet.

2012 Indoor: Charles earned a pair of All-WAC honors in his first season as a Vandal … took fifth in the shot put at the WAC Indoor Championships with a mark of 42-11.75 (13.10m) and added a fifth-place weight throw of 53-2.75 (16.22m) to earn Second-Team All-WAC in both … hit a career-best 52-8 (16.05m) in a fifth-place finish in the shot put at the UW Open on Feb. 12 … hit a career-best 54-4.5 (16.57m) in the weight throw at the Vandal Indoor on Feb. 3.

Bronx CC: Charles was a record-setting thrower at Bronx CC … was a multiple-time NJCAA Division III Championships qualifier in both indoor and outdoor track and field … as a freshman in 2009 took 10th in the shot put indoors (48-6.75) and during the 2009 outdoor season took fifth in the shot put (45-5), seventh in the hammer (141-5) and 14th in the discus (103-11) … in 2010 as a sophomore, he finished 11th in the shot put (47-1) and 15th in the weight throw (47-3.5) at the indoor championships and fourth in the shot put (46-1.5), fourth in the hammer with a conference-record 146-0 and seventh in the discus with a 137-5.

High School: Charles was a two-time New York state qualifier in the shot put at Walton High School … earned a third-place finish at the 2008 indoor state championships (52-1.75) and a ninth-place state finish in 2008 outdoors (50-3.75).

Personal: He is the son of Evelyn Jackson … has four brothers, Shawn, Matthew, Keenan and Chace … undecided on a major.
