2012 Outdoor: Svazs posted WAC runner-up honors and was an NCAA qualifier in the javelin throw in his first season as a Vandal … threw 216-5 (65.96m) and finished 14th at the NCAA West Preliminary in the javelin throw … finished second at the WAC Outdoor Championships with a mark of 218-0 (66.45m) to earn his first career First-Team All-WAC honors … set a career best and moved into fourth all-time at Idaho in the javelin with a 227-5 (69.32m) in a second-place finish at the Duane Hartman Invitational on April 28 … earned his first career individual victory on March 24 with a mark of 209-11 (63.98m) at the Buc Scoring Invitational … finished second at the Vandal Jamboree on May 5 with a mark of 217-3 (66.23m) … broke 200 feet in the javelin in all nine of his competitions and hit 215 feet or better in six of those meets … Spring WAC All-Academic honoree.

Personal: He is the son of Vaclovs and Velta Svazs ... has one sister, Agnis ... competed in volleyball and basketball, in addition to track and field, at Murjanu Sport Gymnasium ... took 11th at the World Junior Championships in the javelin with a throw of 233-0 (71.03m) ... majoring in Exercise Science at Idaho
