In 1956, he helped lead the Vandal men to a fifth-place showing at the NCAA Championships and also qualified for the NCAA meet as a senior in 1957. Later in 1957, Cammack competed in the U.S. National Skiing Championships and won the gold medal in Nordic combined, which earned him a spot on the U.S. team at the World Championships in Finland. As a longtime member of the Mt.
